Editorial policy
Southern Arts Review aims to make arts writing clear, considered and fair. Our articles distinguish what can be checked from interpretation, and we take responsibility for correcting material errors.
Accuracy and context
We check names, titles, dates and other factual details against suitable sources before publication. When a claim is uncertain or an interpretation is contested, we avoid presenting it as settled fact. We give context where it helps readers understand a work, practice or tradition, and we do not invent quotations, events or expertise.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure favourable coverage. We do not promise positive treatment in exchange for access, payment or collaboration. If you believe an article contains a factual error, use the Contact page and identify the passage and the correction you believe is needed. We review correction requests and amend confirmed errors with appropriate clarity.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid collaborations and partner placements are labelled clearly so readers can distinguish them from editorial articles. A partnership does not buy editorial conclusions or an unmarked endorsement. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when this applies, the image or its caption will say so. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
